Wadland Summer Vacation 2002

East Coast / Florida / Appalachian Range

During the summer of 2002, we drove our Roadtrek to Florida and back.

We added three new states to our Roadtrek map:  Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky.  (For those who don't know, we have a large map on the side of our van.  When we visit a state, we add the decal for it.  We filled the entire continental-48 on the map on our last van.  The map on this van is already getting pretty full.  After this trip, we had only 7 left.)

Highlights of this trip were stops at:

Colonial Williamsburg (Virginia).  A "living history" museum on 173 acres, with over 500 historic buildings.

St. Augustine (Florida).   The oldest city in the United States

Cousin Phil Wadland's Palm Beach Clock Company (Florida)

Beach Club Resort

in Walt Disney World (Florida)

Other planned stops are:

Grafton, West Virgina.  For more on this, see "Visiting Towns Named Grafton".

Along the way, we'll be visited with several of my cousins, some of whom I haven't seen in a decade or more.

Also, Richard attended the Coral Reef Sailing program at the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base (owned Boy Scouts of America).
